The Exploring the Building Blocks of Science Book 2 Laboratory Notebook introduces kids to the excitement of doing hands-on, real science experiments.  Each easy to perform experiment encourages students to use critical thinking skills and is organized around the scientific method, the process real scientists follow in doing experiments. Inexpensive common household items and foods are used for most of the experiments, and the setup time is minimal. The 22 experiments coincide with the 22 chapters of the Exploring the Building Blocks of Science Book 2 Student Textbook, and an additional activity is included after each experiment. Experiments include: using a magnifying glass as a simple tool to observe details, taste testing foods and using an acid-base indicator, making a clay crucible and using it to explore evaporation, observing the local environment without using electronic devices, using a microscope to see protists, exploring how train wheels use rotational motion, measuring time and speed, taking an object apart to see how it works, observing the weather and how it affects the Earth, building and using a telescope, modeling an orbit, doing science collaboratively, and much more.  (Softcover 224 pages)
